Customer Rating: Summary: Stays with you Comment: I never watched this when it came out in the early 90's, but had heard about it. It was wonderfully done, Daniel Day-Lewis was mesmerizing, and I was struck at how it did not feel the least bit dated. I did not read the book, so can't compare, but for a movie, this had much "edge of your seat" action, romance (not overdone or oversexual), and beauty. And yes, DDL running through the woods makes for some rewinding and replaying!
Customer Rating: Summary: Very entertaining Comment: I really liked this movie and watch it whenever it's on TV. This movie and a handful of others I never tire of. Daniel Day Lewis is such a good actor(a must see in "The Crucible"). The ambush , youngest sister on the cliff and burn at the stake are very intense scenes. I say watch it!
Customer Rating: Summary: Soap-opera in pre-revolutionary America Comment: Hollywood-ized adaption of James Fennimore Cooper's classic novel. Great scenery and action but soap opera story and sappy romance give this the feel of one of those 70/80s TV miniseries.
Customer Rating: Summary: THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS Comment: THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL. WONDERFUL SCENERY AND GREAT ACTING.
THE MUSIC IS ENCHANTING TOO. VERY REALISTIC VIEW OF THE PERIOD.
Customer Rating: Summary: A classic Comment: I watch this several times a year. I own most of the movies ever made of "The Last of the Mohicans". I enjoy them all, but this is my favorite (even though I can't get over the production crew member in his red ball cap showing up in a shot when the British are leaving the fort after the surrender to the French). So much for professional editing. This is about the only thing (other than "Their Will Be Blood")that I have liked Daniel Day Lewis in. This is a classic.

An epic adventure and passionate romance unfold against the panorama of a frontier wilderness ravaged by war. Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor in 1989 for My Left Foot) stars as Hawkeye, rugged frontiersman and adopted son of the Mohicans, and Madeleine Stowe is Cora Munro, aristocratic daughter of a proud British Colonel. Their love, tested by fate, blazes amidst a brutal conflict between the British, the French and Native American allies that engulfs the majestic mountains and cathedral-like forests of Colonial America.
